This validation study of the Domestic Violence Screening Instrument (DVSI) and the Spousal Assault Risk Assessment (SARA) determines the predictive accuracy of the DVSI as a domestic violence screening tool, and the SARA as a domestic violence case planning tool. The objective of this study is to validate the accuracy of the DVSI and SARA as risk classification instruments in Hawaii, and also, and to identify pertinent risk factors that have shown strong content validity based on a three-year recidivism analysis for DV and general re-arrests
