This exploratory study is an analysis of the Domestic Violence Screening Instrument (DVSI) and the Spousal Assault Risk Assessment (SARA), and provides information needed to locally evaluate the validity of the DVSI and SARA as domestic violence risk instruments. The study report helps to strengthen criminal justice services in risk assessment and risk classification; intensive case management, planning, and supervision; and the matching of identified needs to effective treatment services.
